Celebrating Success at Motueka Library

Friday 7 July 2017

Motueka Library's birthday celebrations kicked off in style last Tuesday with a special morning tea in honour of 160 years of library service.

Tasman District Council's CEO Lindsay McKenzie, Councillor Peter Canton, Libraries Manager Glennis Coote and Shirley Lunn, a long-standing library member all delivered speeches to mark the event.

More than 60 guests enjoyed outstanding musical interludes performed by Motueka High School students and a gorgeously decorated birthday cake and morning tea treats.

Later in the day Flossie the Balloon Lady entertained 70 children and parents with her clever balloon twisting creations.

Birthday celebrations continue in July with a visit from renowned New Zealand writer Dame Fiona Kidman.
