Tasman District Council has recently established a Library Housebound service for residents in Richmond and in Motueka.

This service is designed for people who are unable to visit the library on a regular basis (due to illness, advanced years, or home circumstances).

The library staff select books, magazines or Talking books for the borrower, and they are then delivered to the borrower's home by one of our library volunteers. The books are returned to the library by the volunteer 3 or 6 weeks later (dependant on how long the books were issued for).

If you are interested in knowing more about our Housebound service, or know someone else who you think may enjoy our service. please ask staff in either the District or Motueka libraries.

Blue ribbon result for Tasman District Libraries

Tasman District Library won the “reserve champion” blue ribbon at the recent Nelson A and P Show. The library team won over the judges with excellent presentation, friendliness on site and the relevance of the display for the audience.
