Tropical treats in the library
The library staff in the Tasman District Library in Richmond celebrated the end of the school holidays by wearing something tropical.

The school holidays are normally quite busy in the library - especially with the school holiday reading programme - "Rocket into reading" taking place. As well as the holiday programme, many extra library visitors come in to the library to collect holiday reading, use the Internet, and catch up with news by reading newspapers from around New Zealand. And of course our regular local library users still keep coming it to find something relaxing or stimulating to read. During January, the Library in Richmond had over 15,500 visitors - so that was a good reason for the library staff to dress up and celebrate the end of a busy January.

Extreme Read Plus programme winner
Congratulations to Morgan Barnett, the winner of the $25 Prezzy Card.

Morgan was one of 30 keen 9 -12 year old library users who took part in the Extreme Read Plus programme during the summer school holidays at Motueka & Richmond Libraries.

In return for book reviews, each visit allowed these readers a chance to enter the Prezzie card lucky draw & to earn books to keep.

Thanks to everyone who participated.
