The Takaka Memorial Library on Commercial Street will be open for the last time on Friday 28 March 2008. The library will reopen – after its relocation to the new premises at 3 Junction Street – on Tuesday 8 April 2008.

We have been issuing items for a longer period recently so that we would avoid having a large number of books being due back during the shift process.

Items borrowed may be returned to the old library building while the shift is in progress (even though the library will be closed). Please refrain from returning books to the new library until Monday 7 April 2008.

We are sure that the opening of the new library will be ample consolation for the week’s closure.

If you need to contact the library during this time please ring (03) 525 0059 or ring the Tasman District Library in Richmond (03) 543 8500.
