Tasman Skate Park Tour

From Takaka to Brightwater the Tasman Skate Park Tour stopped off at six locations during the inaugural tour held over summer. Organised by Tasman District Council Community Recreation Officer Cindus Colonna & myself, the tour was sponsored by Dickies, Cheapskates, Traffick and DVS and received loads of support from the Tasman Youth Council who provided help with setting-up and judging.

TYC Training Hui 2007

This year’s regional Tasman Youth Council Training Hui was held at Kimi Ora Health Spa at Kaiteriteri Beach. Twenty-two young people attended and took part in a number of workshops, including submission writing, event planning, Local Government and Youth Council functions, group work, and of course we played lots of cool games to keep us motivated (including lots of swimming in the heated pool and spa facilities). So now we are all trained up we are ready to represent you.

Sporting Success Recognised

The Sport Tasman Sportsperson of the Year Awards Show was held on 16 June 2006 and the efforts of some of regions top sports people were recognised. There were three categories for young sports people, with two finalists and one winner in each. More

TYC Training Hui 2006

We had a successful and fun training camp over the weekend with 17 participants taking part from around the Tasman region (13 Youth Councillors and four youth council coordinators). We stayed overnight on Friday 31 March 2006 and for the entire day on Saturday 1 April 2006 at Tui Lodge which is the new cool facility at Bridge Valley Christian Camp. More

Sunnyside Up Radio Show

Sunnyside Up! The youth radio show on Fresh FM every Wednesday evening
just after the BBC World Service News ('live' from London) at 6.00 pm.

'Live' radio for the youth of Tasman hosted by the youth of Tasman and sponsored by Tasman Youth Council - music, chat, whats on and a good dose of humour!

This show rotates between the Takaka and Motueka studios and is currently hosted by one (or some) of the following: Luke, Harley, Sophia, Jo or Dan.

Fresh FM frequencies - 99.4 across Tasman. 95.4 in Nelson City.
